to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
Cancellation Policy
We will always value our client's time, and we ask our clients do the same for us. For this reason, at Cura, we require a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellation of appointments. We understand and can appreciate that life throws unexpected situations and circumstances our way; for this reason, we always encourage you to contact the clinic and let us know as soon as possible.
As a small clinic, notice of cancellation goes a long way. Whether it is to give the provider enough time to be notified and adjust schedules as needed, or to allow another valued client to access limited available spaces, it makes a helpful difference for the Cura community. Less than 24 hours notice for an appointment cancellation is subject to the being charged the full appointment fee.
Late Arrivals & No-Shows
Late arrivals are considered anything 15 minutes beyond your appointment time and are subject to full appointment fee. It is up to the discretion of the clinician on if your appointment will need to be rescheduled or not after the 15 minute mark. This is because we want to ensure you get the sufficient time you deserve to properly and fully explore the concerns you are presenting with, rather than provide half empty and ineffective support.

No-shows take time and space out of our practitioners day, as well as a spot that could have been used by another valued client. For this reason, no-shows are charged the full appointment fee.
Confidentiality & Privacy
Our clinic strictly abides by the standard of confidentiality and the limits to confidentiality as outlined by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). As per CRPO, Registered Psychotherapists must be diligent about maintaining the confidentiality of clients, except when it goes against one of CRPO's outlined limits to confidentiality. Please see below the limits to confidentiality as per CRPO's website. In addition to this, we aim to maintain privacy in all interactions and spaces between sessions in the best interest of our clients. We also ensure all systems used are PHIPA compliant.
As per CRPO's website, "client information is maintained in strict confidence, except with the client’s consent or as required by law, for example:
- To prevent a significant risk of serious harm to a person
- Where a mandatory report is required (e.g., to a Children’s Aid Society where a child is in need of protection)
- Where disclosure is required for a legal proceeding
- To facilitate an investigation or inspection authorized by warrant or by any provincial or federal law
- To contact a relative, friend or potential substitute decision-maker if the client is injured, incapacitated, or ill and unable to give consent personally
- Disclosing information to the College (e.g., when a complaint has been made about a registrant, or assessment of the registrant’s practice as part of the Quality Assurance Program)"
